The annual Miracle on Main Street Gala not only raises funds for the popular Christmas in the Square celebration but is also a great way to kick off the holiday season while having a great time with other members of the community  -- all for a good cause.

The Hingham Downtown Association hosts both events -- Miracle on Main Street, Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. at Saint John's Church, and Christmas in the Square, which has been a tradition for almost 40 years and is privately-funded entirely by the HDA at a cost of about $17,000 annually.

The fun-filled Christmas in the Square event -- which will take place the following evening, Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Hingham -- will feature live music, giant candy canes,  ice sculptures, a Luminaria Festival, a visit from Santa, and many other family activities.

Help keep this tradition alive!  The entire community is invited to this ticketed ($75 per person) festive event -- the Miracle on Main Street gala -- featuring an open bar, lite bites from local restaurants, and live music. There will be a silent auction full of amazing holiday gifts and services from Square shops and a live auction with one-of-a-kind experiences on which to bid -- including a ride on the fire truck with Santa to Christmas in the Square, a ride in the police car escorting Santa to the Square, and VIP parking downtown on the night of the celebration.  Tickets can be purchased here: https://discoverhingham.com/miracle-on-main-street-hingham/

Santa himself -- a.k.a. Hingham's own Bob Beal in real life --  will be the honored guest at the gala, sharing interesting stories from the early days of Christmas in the Square.

Both events are a great way to start your holiday celebration. What a great surprise it will be for the lucky winner to tell their child(ren) the morning of Christmas in the Square that they will be riding with Santa and his elves on a fire truck to downtown Hingham -- a memorable experience they won’t forget.
