Kathryn Smith Obituary

KATHRYN SMITH

January 29, 2021

Kathryn “Bobbie” (Pace) Smith of Weymouth, formerly of Marshfield, MA passed away peacefully on January 29, 2021 at age 85.

Bobbie was the beloved wife of 64 years to Gerald “Jerry” Smith. Devoted mother/mother-in-law to Jerry Smith, Jr. (Erika Stern) of Duxbury, Sandi Smith (Chuck Imbrogna) of South Weymouth and preceded in death by her infant sons, Kevin and Paul Smith. Doting grandmother “Nanny” to Justin Smith Morimoto (Beverly) of South Weymouth and Owen Smith of Duxbury. Also, the adoring great-grandmother to her precious “little girls”, Naylia Rose and Rosalie Grace Morimoto of South Weymouth and step-great-grandmother to Dalton Bess of Guyana, South America.

She grew up in Dedham, MA with her late parents, Frances and Anthony Pace, and siblings, Peppy, Joey, Jimmy and her late brother, Tony. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, sister and brother in laws, cousins and friends.

Bobbie was a 1953 graduate of Notre Dame Academy and furthered her education at Mount Ida College. She worked several jobs such as waitress, office worker, banker and realtor. But her most memorable job was behind the counter at her aunt and uncle’s bakery in Westwood, MA where she gave lots of free cookies to a sweet boy with whom she ended up spending the rest of her life.

She lived at her home on the North River in Marshfield for 50 years before moving to Allerton House in Weymouth in 2019. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved having her family around her as much as possible. She hosted every Christmas Eve, Easter Egg Hunts, birthday celebrations, pool parties, boat excursions on the river and so much more. Entertaining everyone with their favorite meals, beverages and snacks was her most pleasurable pastime. She enjoyed showering her family with gifts and goodies but most of all, Love!

Nanny will be never be forgotten and will live in our hearts and memories forever.

A celebration of life will be planned when we can gather safely again.

In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Bobbie may be made to the Second Parish, 685 Main St., Hingham, MA 02043 or the Cancer Center of the Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth at https://www.jordanhospitalclub.org/donate
