Wetland Safari: The Art of Alix White
The public is invited to join the artist for a reception on February 8 from 6:00 Р8:00. About the Artist: Alix White lives in Cohasset MA a seaside town also blessed with fields, woods and wetlands where her ancestors have been since 1868. Her sense of
love and responsibility for the land come from the earth she gardens and the history of her people on this land. While her field of study and practice has always been art, she has always been comfortable with the ebb and flow of life in nature and humans. She
has worked for 30 years providing care for the elderly both privately and within¬†residential settings, praised for her gifts and skill in this work. She is deeply spiritual, a¬†member of her church’s choir and prayer community. She was educated at BU School of¬†Fine Arts and California College of Arts and Crafts where she received her BFA. She is a¬†founding member of Cohasset Open Studios and a gallery artist at the South Shore Art¬†Center. She exhibits locally and internationally. Pig Face – Gail Nathanson

IN THE CLEMENS GALLERY Feburary 3 ‚Äď 29, 2024
Faces We Love: The Art of Gail Nathanson
About the Artist: Gail Nathanson is a long time Hingham oil painter who paints mostly¬†figures and landscapes. She has won numerous awards for her work and has exhibited in¬†galleries throughout New England. ¬†Although most of her figurative work focuses on the¬†human figure, she enjoys giving up her canvas to some barnyard animals that have¬†expressive faces. When deciding what animals she wants to paint, she visits local farms¬†where she finds inspiration for her barnyard animal portraits. Weir River Farm and¬†Hornstra Farm are two of her favorite local farms, as well as farms on Martha’s¬†Vineyard, that have many sheep and diary pastures. Come along with the artist to see¬†some of the “Faces We Love” paintings hanging in the Clemens Gallery for the month of¬†February. The artist has a local studio and gallery where more of her work can be seen.
