Tomorrow marks the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11, a day that changed America forever.

Before the Hingham Farmers Market opens, Select Board Chair Joseph Fisher will ring the market bell and lead a moment of silence at the time the first attack occurred that day -- 8:46 a.m. -- followed by brief remarks in remembrance and in honor of those who sacrificed their lives on Sept. 11, 2001 and in the years that followed.

Marketgoers are invited to join this event. The market will officially open at 9:00 a.m.

"9/11 forged a community and volunteer movement that continues to this day," HFM President Mark Cullings said. "The HFM is one example of a local organization that thrives from this lasting strength and spirit. . . . [We encourage patrons from Hingham and beyond to support] small businesses and our community with a visit to the market."

This week's offerings include a wide array of the freshest products from local farmers, chefs, artisans, and more.
