Hingham Community Center is excited to be offering Summer programming again this year. We have Art, STEAM, Dance, and Musical Theater week-long camps running from June through August. We hope to utilize both indoor and outdoor space to keep the kids engaged all summer long. Classes with availability include:
Hollywood Film Productions with Athena Coding will guide your child as they turn their idea into an amazing script, and then they'll help you bring it to life! Each movie will be shown at the end of the camp and a DVD copy with a custom poster sent home. Ages 6-12, July 5th through 9th.
Musical Theater with Spotlight gives young actors the opportunity to explore all aspects of musical theater. They will learn beginner acting techniques, warm-ups, stage directions, musical theater dance, and much more. Ages 6 through 9, July 12th through July 16th and August 9th through 13th.
Olympic Chess with Athena Coding allows kids to learn the world’s oldest game! Athena Coding has designed a high-energy, stimulating approach to chess that is great for all ages. This camp is suitable for any skill levels. Ages 6 through 12, August 16th through 20th.
Princess/Prince Summer Dance Each day we will explore a different famous Princess/Prince through songs, dances, games, and crafts! This camp is perfect for your little princess or prince looking to try out different dance styles or to continue their training in the summer. Ages 3 through 5, August 9th through 13th.
Rocket Science with Wicked Cool for Kids Build and launch Wicked Cool’s - favorite solid fuel rocket, the customizable E2X: perfect for the young aerospace engineer. Keep a Commander’s Log as you investigate the solar system, design a satellite, and build a space base for an astronaut. Blast off with a solid fuel, high-flying,rocket launch at the end of the week. Ages 6 through 12, July 19th through 23rd.
So You Think You Can Dance This camp is perfect for dancers looking to try out different dance styles or to continue their training in the summer. Join us for a totally fun time! Just like the popular hit TV show, we will be doing a variety of different dance styles each day like hip hop, jazz, tap, ballet, musical theatre, etc. to today’s greatest hit songs, TikTok’s, and movies! Ages 6 through 12, July 19th through July 23rd and August 16th through 20th. A few of our other programs have reached capacity but if you are interested in joining the waitlist you will be notified if/when space becomes available.
In addition to these fun and exciting programs, Karate will be offering classes at all age and skill levels beginning at the end of June through the end of August.
