As part of the state’s phase two reopening plan, Derby Street Shop’s retail stores are beginning to welcome back guests for in-store shopping. While many of the restaurants and retail stores have been open for curbside shopping and takeout, the team at WS Development, the owner of the outdoor shopping destination, has been working hard behind the scenes to ensure a safe reopening for all, including a new curbside shopping program that will launch next week.  A full list of open Derby Street Shops retailers and restaurants can be found here.

Derby's new curbside program - Pick Up Quick – launches next week and will outline spots around the center for quick curbside pickup. It’s very simple, once you make your purchase online or via phone, you will pull up to the curbside spot closest to your retailer/restaurant, give them a call and tell them what spot you’re in (they are clearly labeled with colors and numbers) and they will bring you your purchases.  A map of where the “Pick Up Quick” stations will be can be found here.

“First and foremost, the safety of our guests, tenants and employees is most important to us. We have been working diligently with our shops and restaurants to help them prepare for their reopening and have communicated the measures we are taking to protect all guests,” shared Sherri Schuler, General Manager. “We will be outlining the many options available to them with regards to PPE and new services like our Pick Up Quick program. We have installed helpful signage and visual communication across our entire property to help our guests acclimate to our new normal, practice social distancing and enjoy a seamless experience. Our surrounding community is the heart of Derby Street and we are overjoyed to welcome everyone back as our shops and restaurants begin to reopen."

Just prior to the pandemic Derby Street Shops announced the addition of Gelato & Chill, an artisanal Italian gelato shop with two locations in Boston. The shop features small batch handmade gelato created from award-winning Italian recipes with no additives or high-fructose corn syrup, only natural ingredients. The shop was founded by long-time Hingham resident and gelato master, Vincent Turco.

"As longtime residents of Hingham we feel really fortunate to open at Derby. We have admired the caliber of fine retailers and restaurants as patrons over the years. Now we get to join the Derby Team offering Artisanal Italian Gelato, and look forward to our opening in the coming days,” shared Turco.

Two New Pop-Ups Coming to Derby!

Derby Street Shops is also excited to welcome two new pop-up stores, including SOLO Golf, a men’s golf apparel brand that is meant to be worn on and off the course, and SUNS Outdoor Furniture, a European outdoor furniture brand specializing in quality and innovation.  Both stores are set to open next week.

Just in time for Father’s Day, SOLO Golf will be located in the former Nic & Zoe space between to Gelato & Chill and francesca’s (Nic & Zoe is moving to a new location within the shopping center). The SOLO Golf brand was founded by two Scituate residents -husband and wife team - Dan and Tessa. Their mission is to, “break the mold of the golf uniform” and create something more modern and stylish.

“As a new brand, we understand how important it is to grow our local community. Establishing a retail presence at Derby St. Shops was the obvious first choice to best reach our audience. We could not be more excited to open our doors at Derby St., to meet all of our neighbors, and share our brand and mission,” shared Tessa and Dan Sullivan, co-founders of SOLO Golf.

SUNS Outdoor Furniture will be located in the former Rite-Aid space. SUN’S is known for its use of long-lasting materials like teak, aluminum, wicker, texilene and rosewood that is designed to be functional but also create the perfect ambiance.

“People are spending more time at home now more than ever, and SUNS is all about letting people enjoy an outdoor lifestyle in the comfort of your own backyard,” said Gabriel Kroeze, SUNS store owner. “We’re a European brand, so our pieces have that sense of style and sophistication and are unique in the sense that they bring the comfort of indoor furniture outside. We’re so excited to share our designs with the South Shore community, and we know that Derby Street is the perfect place to do so.”

Be safe and happy shopping everyone!
