This is not a drill, Hingham...the "Swap Shop" is BACK!

The Swap Shop at the Transfer Station (a.k.a. The Dump) has finally re-opened after a long pandemic year of hoarding unused items in our homes. Anchor staff expects the Swap to be bustling during the first couple of weeks as residents begin unloading their treasures.

Hours:

Thursday 10am-2pm
Friday 10am-2pm
Saturday 10am-2pm
Sunday 10am-2pm

(Please note that the Transfer Station is closed this Saturday, 6/19 in observance of Juneteenth)

As a reminder, accepted items must be in good and usable condition. Volunteers have the right of refusal.

Prohibited Items include mattresses, bulky and upholstered furniture, computers, paint, hazardous products and rugs.

The Department of Public Works operates the Town's Recycling Area and Trash Transfer Facility, which is located on Sam Ryder Road off Hobart Street. The facility is opened to Hingham residents and certain small businesses with proper permits, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Thursday through Sunday, excluding holidays. Stickers for household rubbish and all other Permits are issued at the Public Works office with proper identification of residency. Stickers and Permits are only issued at the Department of Public Works office.
