South Shore Conservatory (SSC) presents Off-Air: An Afternoon with Ron Della Chiesa and Joe Collymore, on Saturday, December 10, 1 pm, in SSC’s Cox Hall, One Conservatory Drive, Hingham. This intimate gathering brings together broadcast legend Ron Della Chiesa, in conversation with actor, producer and storyteller Joe Collymore, to share stories of his life and career.
A member of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame, Della Chiesa is one of the most recognized voices in broadcast radio in New England, with a career that has spanned genres and generations. A native of Quincy, Della Chiesa recently signed off after more than three decades on air as the host of CRB’s Boston Symphony Orchestra broadcasts. He also hosts a weekly radio show on WPLM, Frank Sinatra & Friends.
Collymore is a retired education publishing executive, having served in senior-level positions with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Pearson Education. He recently performed at WGBH on Stories from the Stage, a joint production of Storyteller and World Channel, and has appeared as a guest narrator in several South Shore Conservatory performances, as part of the Evenings Under the Stars series.
“I am excited to join my friend and colleague, Ron Della Chiesa, for this conversation on his life and career, and cannot think of a more ideal setting for this enriching event than South Shore Conservatory,” says Collymore.
The event includes lunch and musical entertainment, followed by an interview and interactive discussion on Della Chiesa’s iconic career.
