The Town of Hingham is pleased to announce that registration is now available for a temporary regional COVID-19 testing site that will begin operations this week in Hingham.

The site, which is scheduled to open on Wednesday, January 12, is sponsored by the Hingham, Cohasset, Hull and Scituate Health Departments. It will be located at 335 Lincoln St. (Route 3A) in Hingham.

Appointments will be required in order to receive a test. Sign-up online for a test. No tests will be administered without an appointment.

The site will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents and employees from Hingham, Cohasset, Hull and Scituate will have priority appointment access, between the hours of 7-11 a.m., although they can still sign up for appointments outside of the priority timeframe as well if needed. "Testing is an important mitigation measure against the spread of COVID-19, and this site is a terrific opportunity for those in the region looking to be tested," said Hingham Executive Health Officer Susan Sarni. "We thank the Boards of Health, first responders and everyone else from each of the four towns for their cooperation and hard work to make sure this site came together smoothly and efficiently."

Site Specifics

This will be a drive-up site, and those receiving a test will not need to exit their vehicle. Vehicles will be directed to enter the parking lot from Shipyard Drive via Route 3A, where they will turn onto Essington Drive and enter through the back of the lot near Fresh Market. Once on site, vehicles will be directed in a one-way traffic pattern to the testing point. Once the test has been administered, vehicles will exit from the same location where they entered in the back of the lot.

The site will offer multiple forms of COVID-19 tests, and those receiving a test will not receive their results on site. Instead, they will be contacted by health officials with results after leaving the testing site. The cost of a PCR test will be billed directly to the person’s insurance provider, while Antigen Rapid Tests will cost $149, and Antibody Tests will cost $75. For information on the different types of COVID-19 tests please see Covid-19 Frequently Asked Questions.

Funding for the testing site was made available through a grant from the Massachusetts Public Health Excellence Grant Program, received by the Towns of Hingham, Cohasset, Hull and Scituate.
