The popular Children’s Craft Market of Hingham will return during the Oct. 23 Hingham Arts Walk.

"Now is the time for people to ask their kids what they would like create (on their own!) and sell," organizer Kerrin Falk Forsyth told the Hingham Anchor. "This is such a wonderful opportunity to get those little creative minds going and to give our kids the gift of interacting with other buyers and sellers."

The CCM will be open from 12:30 to 2 p.m., with participants selling the crafts they have created, on the tunnel cap between J. McLaughlin and the former Winston Flowers building.

Forsyth noted that there are still opportunities for beach combing to discover items that could be used in crafts. Other possibilities for participating children and teens, include painting, knitting, building, beading, slime mixology, among others -- "You name it!" Forsyth said. Those who wish to participate are encouraged to get a head start before the new school year and related activities go into full swing.

“Creativity is intelligence having fun," Forsyth said, quoting Albert Einstein.

The mission of the CCM is to create a place for local children to come together in Downtown Hingham to display and sell items that they have made on their own at home and to encourage them to be independently creative (with minimal assistance from their parents or guardians) and help them learn valuable social and life skills in a real-life setting where they are having fun with other children.

Children and teens ages 4 to 18 are welcome to sign up to sell items they have made, and people of all ages are invited to visit the CCM to support these young crafters.

Participants set up a small table and chair to sell their crafts,  and they manage their own table as much as they are able to on their own. Crafts range in price from 25 cents to $3.
