Hingham Public Library is offering fun-filled summer reading programs for children and teens. The children's theme is "Read Beyond the Beaten Path," featuring stickers, weekly prizes, and good times for those who participate.

Beginning Monday, June 27, families are invited to stop by the library to register their children in-person and to pick up summer reading cards for the kids and a calendar of events for grown-ups -- featuring all the special activities the library will offer this summer.

Sign-ups for the summer reading program for teens also begin Monday, June 27. Those wishing to participate may stop by the library at any time to get started. This program is open to all teens in grades 6 through 12. All they have to do is stop by the Children's Desk to sign up and to pick up their first reading card.

Teens will fill out these cards every week, sharing the titles they are enjoying at the moment -- whether a book, audiobook, magazine, graphic novel, or other. Teens who turn in a reading card earn prizes -- and a raffle ticket toward the library's end-of-summer prize. For more reading challenges and chances at raffle tickets, ask for a bingo card packet at the desk when signing up. Happy reading!

“Read Beyond the Beaten Path” is sponsored by the Hingham Public Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
