The newly formed Hingham Arts Alliance (HAA) held its inaugural Arts on the Green event featuring music, dance, and art activities this past Sunday afternoon at Derby Shops.

Shoppers strolling through Arts on the Green enjoyed several performances, including a drum circle led by percussionist Ed Sorrentino of the South Shore Conservatory, dancers from Missy’s Movement and Mosaic, and Hingham High School musicians Tetor Nghiem and Kate Schembri, as well as crafts and face painting with HHS alums Emma Angel and Ryan Maguire.

HAA will continue to spread Hingham’s artistic energy over the summer with its local artist spotlight series and a float in Hingham’s Fourth of July parade. In the fall, HAA will host its inaugural fundraiser with live performances at the South Shore Conservatory on September 24. HAA will also be a part of the Hingham Arts Walk on October 23.

The Hingham Arts Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to being a voice of advocacy, awareness, and support for the arts throughout Hingham Public Schools and the broader Hingham community.
