Endorsement: Bring Back Town Pool – Ballot Question in Election This Saturday

IMG_4745

We want to ensure residents are aware that there is a two-step approval process to bring back the Town Pool:

  1. Town Meeting Approval (received April 30)
  2. Majority Vote on Ballot Question at this Saturday’s Town Election- (ballot question is located on the bottom of the ballot)

In the works since 2016, the pool project received unanimous support from your SelectBoard, Advisory Committee, Community Preservation Committee and Country Club Management Committee.  They all agreed that investing in this community-wide infrastructure is a town priority identified in its thoughtful Master Planning process.

The pool has lived beyond its useful life, closing in 2019 after serving generations for over 70 years.

The $8MM shovel-ready project has been professionally cost estimated receiving over $1MM in CPC approvals since 2017.

Its tax impact to the average tax assessed home in Hingham is $43 per year or 13 cents per day.
