Dorothy H. (Heath) Schillinger

Beloved wife of Joseph H. Schillinger for 67 years, the two married on October 3, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Richmond Hill, New York.  Loving mother to Donna Ebata and her husband David of Hingham, Ellen Betancourt and her husband Walter of Florida, Robert Schillinger and his wife Annette of England, and John Schillinger and his wife Kathryn of New Jersey. Dorothy is the cherished grandmother of Kimiko Ebata of Colorado, Robert Ebata of California, Tyler Ebata of New York City, Patrick Schillinger of England, and Robert (Josh) Schillinger of Scotland. She was the dear sister of Arthur T. Heath and his wife Carolyn of New York. Dorothy is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Born September 14, 1933 in Queens, New York to Arthur and Dorothea (Langenberg) Heath and graduated from Richmond Hill High School with the Class of 1951.

An artist, Dorothy loved all mediums of painting, her favorite was watercolors of birds and nature. Her signature hand painted Christmas cards always included a Red Cardinal.  An avid animal lover, she was always surrounded by their unconditional love.  Dorothy was a woman of faith and was active in many aspects of the Church. She also enjoyed gardening and camping with her family and friends.

Dorothy was an individual with a vision. She was strong, yet reserved, creative, and loving. Her life lessons and example are part of her legacy that continues through her family. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.
