Hammers replaced house tours for a day. A team of Corcoran Property Advisors agents traded open houses for tool belts on July 28, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity on the renovation of a home in Abington, Massachusetts. The home is expected to be completed in early fall and will provide affordable housing to a local family.

Agents spent the day on site assisting with hands-on renovation work as part of Habitat for Humanity’s mission to help families achieve stable, affordable homeownership.
“Being on site and seeing the transformation happen in real time was incredibly moving,” said Courtney Heald, agent with Corcoran Property Advisors. “We spend every day helping people find their next home. Getting to physically help build one for a family who needs it most reminded me why I fell in love with this business in the first place.”
Fellow agent Peter McGovern echoed that sentiment. “There’s something powerful about swinging a hammer instead of just talking about giving back. It was humbling to be part of something that’s going to make such a real difference for a family in our community.”

Corcoran Property Advisors CEO Brian Dougherty said the event reflects a broader commitment the company is making to community involvement.
“Every family deserves a place to call home, no matter their circumstances,” said Dougherty. “As a company, we believe it’s our responsibility to give back to the communities we work in, especially by helping people who might otherwise be priced out of the market find a home of their own. Days like this remind us that our work is about so much more than transactions. It’s about people.”
The Abington renovation is part of Corcoran Property Advisors’ ongoing efforts to deepen its community involvement and support organizations that align with its mission of helping people find home. The company plans to continue partnering with local and regional organizations dedicated to housing access and affordability.
