There's good news for commuters.

The MBTA Fiscal and Management Control Board voted yesterday to resume full subway and bus service, weekend commuter rail service where it was cut, and Hull/Hingham ferry service that was also cut earlier "as soon as possible," without defining a specific timeline, according to Hingham Selectman Joseph Fisher.

The virtual board meeting -- which focused on transit service levels, including the ferry -- was open to the public.

The decision was made to restore service to pre-COVID-19 levels even though ridership is not expected to return to pre-pandemic levels anytime soon.

Watch for further updates as they become available.
