Did you miss out on all of the Haunted Hingham hooplah but are still looking for an eerie fun filled Fall activity? For the next two weekends in November, the Hingham Historical Society will be hosting its Annual Candlelight Tours at the Old Ordinary.

Guests will travel back in time and experience what life was like for New England families during long, cold and dark New England winters by venturing through the rooms of the Old Ordinary by only candlelight. Docents will give accounts of Colonial life, how they lived and how they survived.

The Old Ordinary House was built in 1686. This property is a remarkable example of early American architectural and cultural history, built on the main road from Boston for stagecoach travelers to stop “for an ordinary meal” and a drink in the taproom.

Candlelight tours will be held on November 5th, 6th, 12th & 13th, are 45 minutes long, and will end with an appropriate snack. It is a great opportunity to gather friends and family for a historical night out in Downtown Hingham.
