When the second of the three new fire stations was opened in 1942, the public was invited inside the building for tours. Hanging over the fireplace was a bronze plaque donated by Ira G. Hersey listing all the names of the foremen of the Torrent hand tub fire company between 1849 and 1891. Hersey also donated part of the land the station sits on and played a part in placing the old Torrent emblem on the outside of the building. On the North Street side of the building is a new Torrent emblem with a little man on top and the old sign hangs in the Bare Cove Fire Museum. The old little man from the top is in Hingham Town Hall.
