William D. Gavin of Hingham, originally from Mattapan, died October 20, 2022 at the age of 84.
Bill worked as an engineer for Polaroid for many years. He was a talented blacksmith and loved nature. He and his wife were very active in the Linden Ponds community. They enjoyed gardening and helped curate the annual Flower Show and helped design the seasonal planters. They also participated in the Linden Ponds Theater Company as part of the stage crew, building and painting sets.
Bill was the beloved husband of the late Anna K. (Doherty) Gavin. Loving father of Billy Gavin of Nashua, NH and Suzanne Donahue and her husband Kenneth of Bridgewater. Proud “Wowl” to his grandchildren: Savanna, Michael, Gavin and Emily. Brother of Florence “Tootsie” Previdi of Melrose and Marjorie Cremin of Quincy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Saturday 10/29/22 from 8:30 – 9:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, South Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
