This photo highlighted a news article in 1952 about purchase of the Hingham Bathing Beach area promoted by the Village Improvement Society and noted it was paid by public subscription.
There were 10 bath houses free to the public with water from Accord Pond piped in for showers.
This is a glass negative in the archives and from the Henderson Scrapbook that was digitized and given to the Hingham Historical Society.
