Have you ever driven by Hingham Harbor in the summer and wished that there was a place where you could gather, have a beverage with friends and family and listen to live music, playing cornhole all while enjoying the gorgeous vistas our harbor has to offer?  Sounds dreamy, right?  Well, you’re in luck!

This spring and summer our friends at the Hingham Maritime Center (HMC) and Untold Brewing have partnered to bring this exact vision to life through their partnership Making Waves, a five-night beer garden series.

“This is really exciting for our collective community,” shared Mike Dyer, co-owner of Untold Brewing. “I’ve lived in Hingham for many years and took a sailing class at the Hingham Maritime Center which inspired us to think about ways we could partner to unite our community in their gorgeous outdoor space.  The ability to come together with neighbors, family and friends to enjoy Hingham Harbor together through this event series is really a dream and it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Through the event series, locals can visit the Hingham Maritime Center on select dates throughout the spring/summer beginning on Thursday, May 16th to enjoy a variety of local live musicians, exceptional food from renown food trucks, Untold Brewing’s latest beer releases plus wine, seltzer, and non-alcoholic beverages for all to enjoy.  Each night is ticketed for $20 with $10 of each ticket going to benefit Hingham Maritime’s valuable community programming. Each ticket also comes with one complimentary beverage of your choice. Additional beverages can be purchased at menu pricing.

“Our mission at the Hingham Maritime Center is simple – to increase waterfront access for all,” shared Liza MacKinnon, President of the Hingham Maritime Center’s Board of Directors. “We have a beautiful space in Hingham and we want to ensure the public can fully enjoy the space while also learning about our important maritime, harbor and water safety programs we offer for everyone to enjoy.  Partnering with our friends at Untold Brewing really brings our community spirit to life while all while raising critical funds to advance our mission.”

The Hingham Maritime Center offers a range of adult rowing, sailing, and paddleboarding classes as well as youth sailing, rowing and a Little Mariners program for young adventures.   In its continued commitment to boating and water access for all, HMC offers scholarships based on financial need, which are available to eligible sailors and rowers of all ages. HMC is also a home base for Hingham Public School’s Sailing and Rowing Teams providing access and facilities for these robust athletic programs.
