Track Team Heats Up Winter Season

 

The boys 4×400 relay team placed first in the Patriot League and seeded first in for the D2 Championship.

Saturday night the Varsity Track athletes competed at the New Balance Center for the Patriot League meet. Claimed as the fastest track in the world, this held true with the teams speeding to many PRs and medals.

The Hingham Boy’s Team placed 3rd at the Patriot League meet though already had clinched a tie for the League itself.

The Hingham Girl’s Team came in 8th place at the Patriot League Championship Meet.

Girls 4×200 relay finished 4th in the Patriot League Championships.

Some notable performances included:

  • The boys 4 x 200 team of Colin McNamara, Jack Brockney, Graham Wilson and Will Matthews ran 1:32.62 which qualifies them for Nationals and is the fastest indoor 4 x 200 in HHS history. They are ranked 6th going into the D2 Championship.
  • The 4 x 400 team of Matt McCarthy, Nate Antoine, CJ Boutin and Will Matthews also qualified for Nationals and the D2 meet with a season best 3:29.88 which is 2nd best all time in Hingham and they are ranked first going into the D2 Championship.
  • Junior Connor Anderson placed 4thin the 1000m with a PR of 2:44.52
  • Junior Colin McNamara placed 6thin the 55m with a PR of 6.77 and 3rd in the 300m with a PR of 36.43
  • Senior Brendan Burm placed 4thin the mile with a 4:39.97
  • Senior AJ Barret placed 6thin the 55m hurdles with a 8.35, 2nd in the high jump with a height of 6 feet and 4th in the Long Jump with a 19’ 7 “ jump
  • Junior Sean Curry placed 5thin the high jump with a 5’8” height
  • Junior Jasai Shakespeare finished in 8th place in the 55 meter dash with a season’s best time of 7.67 seconds.
  • Junior Kate Hall finished in 7th place in the 55 meter dash with a personal best time of 7.65 seconds.
  • Senior Ellie McKay finished in 5th place in the mile with a personal best time of 5:59.98.
  • Junior Meghan Koenen finished in 3rd place in the 600 meter run with a personal best time of 1:41.36
  • The Girls 4×200 Team of Angelina Palek, Jasai Shakespeare, Lindsey McManus and Kate Hall finished in 4th place with a time of 1:54.18
Senior Brendan Burm placed 4th in the 1 mile.
