Town Meeting Parking Update

Attention, voters: Town Meeting parking update!

Town Meeting parking is available in the High School lots in addition to two satellites lots — at the Wompatuck State Park Visitors Center off Union Street and the South Shore Baptist Church parking lot at the corner of Free and Main Streets, according to Hingham Police Chief Glenn Olsson.

Shuttle bus service to the High School will be available from both lots starting at 6 p.m. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the High School gym. Other locations within the school will be used as necessary.

At this time the plan is for electronic sign boards at all three locations to indicate that parking is available. The signs will be updated once a particular lot is full. Should the high school reach full occupancy, signs/Hingham Police officers will direct voters to the Hingham Middle School, 1103 Main St., where parking will be available and voters accommodated in the auditorium.

The rear High School parking lot will be reserved for seniors and those with disabilities for easier access to the gym.

Those parking in the area of the High School are asked to be considerate and to not park on neighbors’ lawns or block their driveways,  Olsson said.
