"There's no place like home for the holidays," especially when you call Hingham home!

Like so many other things this year, the holiday scene our hometown may look a little different: fortunately for those of us feeling in the need of some festivities, three of Hingham's highly-anticipated holiday events have adapted and adjusted their plans. Here's what you can expect from the Festival of Trees, the Hingham Holiday Fair, and the St. John's Boutique in 2020!

The Hingham Women’s Club’s Festival of Trees

Join the Hingham Women’s Club in celebrating the spirit of the season with their Virtual Festival of Trees this December 1-5.

The Women’s Club will be launching a website where interested parties can place virtual bids on an assortment of wonderful items donated from generous businesses, groups, and individuals. And, in the spirit of the season, it’s benefitting a charitable cause: the money raised during this five-day event benefits the Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore and the Hingham Women’s Club Scholarship Fund.

In addition, over 30 decorated trees will be on virtual display for a bit of familiar festive fun!

Hingham Holiday Fair

This year, the highly-anticipated Hingham Holiday Fair has been reimagined into an interactive virtual shopping stroll starting November 7. The event officiators hope to bring a little cheer by offering a selection of fun and festive products you can peruse in the convenience and safety of your own home!

The Holiday Fair’s website will be updated frequently with the most up-to-date product pictures, so be sure to check their Product Photo Page often to be connected with crafts and creations from local and not-so-local artisans and small business owners; just one click and you’re on your way to that vendor's website or provided promptly with their contact information.

“Our creative vendors have festive holiday decor for every room!”

You’ll then have the opportunity to pick-up your purchases on November 21 from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the South Shore Country Club here in Hingham. Masks will be required!

In addition, don’t forget to get your raffle tickets, available while supplies last!

Plus, back by popular demand, you can order your fresh Balsam and Berry or Coastal Evergreen Wreath through DeVaughn's Ridge. Pick up your selection on November 21 or have DeVaughn's deliver it directly to your doorstep!

This, too, has a give-back incentive as portion of the event proceeds are donated to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute through the Pan-Mass Challenge.

St. John’s Holiday Boutique

Join St. John’s for an unsurpassed two-day shopping event extravaganza that offers both virtual and in-person options! The Episcopal church, located on Main Street Hingham, will hold their 2020 Holiday Boutique next Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21.

For those that seek an all-online experience, St. John’s is offering a line-up of virtual vendors including BB Monogram, Falk Jewelry, and Sommers Bounty. Remember to use the promo code “STJOHNS10” at checkout; this will ensure that 10% of the total purchase will be donated to St. John’s.

And, in an effort to make their virtual shopping event even easier, orders placed online can be picked up in-person right here in town at St John's on December 2.

In addition, there are some in-person shopping opportunities with select vendors participating in “Boutique days,” including Amber Waterhouse of Waterhouse Antiques, Doublemint Home, and Mainland! Just be sure to reference the Holiday Boutique at point of purchase.

St. John’s website offers a comprehensive list of online and in-store shopping vendors, in case you’re curious! Be sure to follow their Facebook page for direct links and references to store hours.

And have no fear: Santa will be making home visits this year.

Here at the Hingham Anchor, we're wishing you a happy, healthy, merry, and bright holiday season! We hope you enjoy your experience at these virtual events.

These 2020-renditions will be an incredibly unique way to experience your favorite annual events so stay safe and get shopping, everybody!
