The Unicorn Singers Box 501

April 17, 2024 By Carolin Chapin

The Unicorn Singers, a choral ensemble based in Hingham and serving the South Shore, and the Select Choir from Silver Lake Regional High School present “As the Poet Said” on Friday, April 26 and Sunday, April 28.

Hingham residents performing in this concert include Kathy and Bill Readon, Lynn Anderson, Lizzie Inglis, Jo-An Heileman, Betsy Clifford, Sally Davenport, Tracy Allen, Stewart Wood and Ed Bartholomew.

Under the musical direction of Kelley DePasqua of Plymouth, the two choruses will perform an enchanting collection of contemporary choral works based on poetry of renowned writers such as Shakespeare, Tennyson, Dickinson, Donne, Angelou, Hughes, Burns, and more. The program is divided into three themes: HOPE, LOVE, and LIVING, in which beloved poetic imagery of previous generations form the basis for exceptional new choral compositions. This collaboration between the two choirs serves as a musical bridge, celebrating artistic expression and musical excellence across the generations.

Join us on Friday, April 26 at 7:00 pm, Silver Lake Regional High School, 260 Pembroke Street in Kingston, or Sunday, April 28 at 4:00 pm, Norwell United Church of Christ, 460 Main Street in Norwell. Tickets available at https://www.unicornsingers.org/tickets and at the door.
