The Friends of the South Shore Country Club (FSSCC) are preparing for another memorable season and have finalized this year’s Calendar of Events.

Enjoying a successful 100th Anniversary year, the FSSCC will bring back many popular events to the community in 2023. FSSCC fundraising will support South Shore Country Club’s 2023 priorities, which include the opening of the new maintenance facility and course improvements.

In keeping with Hingham’s drive to move forward while evoking the past, South Shore Country Club is taking steps to restore classic SSCC course features, while remaining one of the best courses on the South Shore. Last year we all enjoyed the bunker project in front of the 15th green. Next up is bunker restoration around the 11th green.

The Opening Event of the season will be Volunteer Day on March 25, 2023, taking place from 8am-12pm.  This is a great annual opportunity for members of the South Shore community to walk and help prepare the 150+ acre course for Opening Day. Last year’s Volunteer Day was a huge success with over 50 participants working in teams to complete divot repair, branch clean up and trash removal.

Coffee and Donuts will be provided along with golf related appreciation gifts.

Student volunteer letters will be provided at the noon time conclusion of the event for those needing verification.

Please bring work gloves if you have them!

“We are beyond grateful to the many volunteers, staff and participants who work tirelessly to support the South Shore Country Club, helping us host over ten 100th Anniversary Events during the 2022 season, “ states FSSCC President Patty Gilbert McDonald. The 2023 FSSCC Board is looking forward to hosting more community events to support the South Shore Country Club for the next 100 years!
