Brooklyn based production company Hideaway Circus is set to stage its open-air family-friendly circus, Stars Above, in Hingham, MA in partnership with local presenter Weir River Farm. The Stars Above 2023 Northeast tour makes its stop in our town from August 1st to 2nd, 2023.
Stars Above is an all-ages production that seamlessly blends contemporary and traditional circus arts. The performance, delivered by an international cast of skilled performers, unfolds on a custom-built circular stage and aerial rig, beneath the vast expanse of the sky.
Circus director Lyndsay Aviner shares, “We are eager to present Stars Above to Hingham this summer.” This season, we have further diversified our lineup, introducing exhilarating acts such as an extraordinary rollerskating duo and a beautiful acrobatic bicycle act. The show offers three tiers of seating: General Admission, where spectators can bring their own portable chair or blanket; Premium Seating, providing a comfortable outdoor spectator lawn chair; and the VIP Experience, which offers center-front seating with the most comfortable chairs. Ticket prices range from $25 to $65.
Our performances in Hingham are hosted by Weir River Farm. Originally part of the picturesque, early-20th-century country estate of renowned artist Polly Thayer Starr, today Weir River Farm is a 75-acre working farm comprising fields and pastures surrounded by oak and red cedar woodlands. The farm supports diverse wildlife habitats, including upland grasslands, while the Weir River passes through the farm at its northwest edge. A Garden Path bordered by flowering shrubs and flowers within the woodlands creates a serene sanctuary. The farm is home to our herd of Belted Galloway cattle, who may be spotted from the trails intersecting Weir River Farm, as well as our barnyard animals including horses, sheep, goats, chickens, pig, and llama.
The circus will be performing at 140 Turkey Hill Lane Hingham, MA 02043. Showtimes are Tuesday, August 1st at 7PM and Wednesday, August 2nd at 4PM*. Tickets for the Stars Above Hingham performances are now available at starsabovecircus.com.
*The 4PM show on 8/2 is an Autism Friendly performance with modified/reduced lighting and sound elements. All are welcome to this performance.
