SNAP’S Pizza Palooza Plus Another Smashing Success

April 22, 2024 By Tom Hoffman

The weather outside was rainy and cold, but there was plenty of bright smiles inside the Hingham High School cafeteria at the recent Pizza Palooza Plus event.

For the seventh time, South Shore SNAP hosted 18 restaurants and merchants who provided  many types of pizza, Bolognese , tasty finger sandwiches and other dinner treats. Drinks included chocolate milk from Hornstra Farms and water provide by The Weir River Water System. Desserts  and treats were provided by Press Juice, The Launch Program and Fratelli’s. The 18 providers served over 450 attendees from their respective tables around the cafeteria. The providers included Bertucci’s, Boathouse Bistro, Comellas, Crow Point Pizza, Evivva and 110 Grill, Greenside Grile, Gusto’s Pizza & Grill, Old Country, Olympus, Peel Pizza, The Lounge at South Shore Sports Center and The Venetian.

With sponsors like The Beth, Tito’s 5th Generation Foundation, South Shore Bank, Betsey Cornell of The Corcoran Group, Harbor Marina and South Shore Support Services, helping to defray costs, the evening provided essential funds for SNAP’s many programs helping special needs kids.

In just two weeks, SNAP will be celebrating its 10th anniversary since being established in May, 2014. Many special needs kids and their high school mentors have learned much from each other and developed lifelong friendships.

The final good news was that the 450 attendees did not finish all the food and treats which were then delivered to the Hingham Police Station, all three Hingham Fire Houses and the Vets Home on Fort Hill Street.

Just another fun night  in Hingham!
