Beloved downtown Hingham boutique seafood market Salty Days will close its doors on Saturday, September 9 shortly before its three year anniversary. But the move is intentional.  The team behind Salty Days has some big news. It plans to open up another full service restaurant in Hingham, akin to the Cohasset Salty Days restaurant.

In spring 2022, based on the buz of the Salty Days market in Hingham, the team opened up a new iteration of Salty Days, which is located in downtown Cohasset in order to focus on a larger footprint and an expanded menu. The Cohasset space features a sit down restaurant, intimate bar, and a full kitchen, plus a grab-and-go fridge for easy take out. Salty Days Cohasset is a family-friendly spot, with a diverse menu that spans sushi, seafood, poke bowls, and other fare, such as their famed smash burger and crab cake Caesar salad. The full-fledged restaurant concept has taken off and the Salty Days’ team is excited to expand and replicate the success in the South Shore.

“This is not goodbye. While we will no longer be operating a traditional seafood market, we are actively looking for another full service restaurant space. Based on our success in Cohasset, we are keeping downtown Hingham a priority during our restaurant search,” shares Sean McDaniel, co-owner and partner of Salty Days.

McDaniel continues, “We are so grateful for our first Salty Days’ space and the community of Hingham who helped make our dream such a success. We’ve been humbled by the past few years, and are thrilled to explore a next adventure, while operating Salty Days Cohasset.”

Stay tuned for announcement details, and more updates for the future Salty Days and the  Cohasset Salty Days’ location as well.
