Robert Warren Carr

Robert Warren Carr passed away on January 29, 2023, from heart failure.  He was born on March 5, 1935, and grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts.  He graduated from Vermont Academy, Class of 1954, before a stint in the Navy, 1955-1961.  He obtained an Associate in Science degree in Business Administration from Dean Junior College, then worked for 32 years in New York at Pan American World Airways as a Senior Accountant.  He retired to South Weymouth and was recently at Allerton House in Hingham.  Playing Varsity Tennis, Varsity Football, and Junior Varsity Hockey in school, he continued playing tennis throughout his life.  Bob was a frequent traveler and he enjoyed going on cruises with his father and then on his own.  He was passionate about Sports and could remember many statistics, talking about them with any who were interested.  Bob volunteered for many years for Meals on Wheels in the Hingham area.

He is survived by his brother, David, sister-in-law, Kate, nephew, Christopher, niece, Cynthia and her family, Mark, Daniel, Rebecca, and Ian, along with many friends.

A celebration of life will take place at New North Church, 1 Lincoln Street, Hingham, MA 02043 on Saturday February 18th at 11am with a reception to follow.  The internment will be on Friday February 17th at noon at the Hingham Cemetery at 12 South St, Hingham, MA 02043.  Donations may be made in his memory for meals on wheels to the South Shore Elder Services (https://sselder.org/nutrition-fund/).  Bob was a cheerful upstanding man, a loyal friend, and helpful to his brother’s family. He will be greatly missed.
