An excavator working on the new boat ramp at Hingham Harbor got stuck, then submerged yesterday afternoon as the tide began to come in. The Coast Guard, EPA, Harbormaster, and HPD were all on scene today to try and remove the large piece of machinery. Oil and gas has spilled into the harbor resulting from the submerged equipment. Removing it was unsuccessful today and they will try again at low tide tomorrow morning.
