Did you know that about 15 million students in the US don’t have basic school supplies? Also, 95% of elementary teachers spend their own money on classroom supplies. And, families can expect to spend an average of $890 on school supplies. We are Girl Scout Troop #67831, and for our Silver Award Project, we are collecting school supplies to give to schools in need in Brockton. You can help by dropping off new and gently used school supplies in the donation boxes at The Barrel (Hingham location), the Hingham Girl Scout House, and AZ Studios. We are collecting:
- Pencil boxes
- Pencil pouches
- Pencils (regular and mechanical)
- Erasers
- Glue sticks
- Pencil sharpeners
- Washable markers
- Colored pencils
- Pens
- Highlighters
- Rulers
- Pocket folders
- Composition notebooks
- Elementary school level books
