It started with a simple conversation with a friend who said, “I would love to get together and talk about the ballot questions.”
I thought that sounded like a great idea. Then I started thinking about others who might enjoy being part of the conversation—and pretty quickly, the list became a little too long for my living room!
I reached out to friends on both the Republican and Democratic sides, and we agreed on something pretty simple: it would be nice to sit down together as neighbors and talk.
This is not intended to be a debate or an effort to convince anyone how to vote. Instead, we hope to create a friendly, respectful roundtable where Hingham residents can share their thoughts, listen to different perspectives, and learn from one another.
Aylene Calnan, former Hingham School Committee Vice Chair, has graciously agreed to moderate the conversation.
We will briefly discuss each of the nine statewide ballot questions. With nine topics to cover, we won’t have time for a deep dive into every issue, but we hope it will be an enjoyable and informative evening of conversation among neighbors.
