
John “Jack” Manning passed away at the age of 84 on August 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, with the dignity and grace with which he lived his life.
Born to the late John and Katherine Manning, Jack spent his childhood in Quincy. He attended Saint Mary’s School and Archbishop Williams High School. He graduated from Northeastern University in 1965.
Jack began his career in purchasing at Merriman Brothers in Hingham. He then worked many years at Boston Insulated Wire and Cable and eventually retired from Draka USA.
Jack was an avid golfer, sports fan, but most of all, a family man.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Ann (Ward) Manning and his four daughters and their families, Susan and Patrick Smith of Scituate and their children, Timothy, Catey and Emma, Kathy and Will Robinson of Winchester and their children, Anna, Avery and Meghan, Elizabeth and Garth Svenson of Barrington, NH and their children, Annabelle and Elsa and Emily and Eric Smith of Wellesley and their children Peter, Esther and June. He is also survived by his loving sister, Judy Manning of Louisville, KY and the Stebbins Family.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday, August 27 from 4 to 7 pm at Pyne Keohane Funeral Home located at 21 Emerald Street in Hingham and his funeral mass will be held at St. Paul’s Church on Friday, August 28 at 10AM.
Private burial will be at a later date.
