
“Sister, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother”
Elizabeth Ann “Betty” (Berry) Borowski, 85, of Hingham died on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
She was the loving wife of 65 years to the late MGySgt and Chief Joachim-Ingo Borowski, who died in 2024.
In addition, her survivors include three children, Karen McCarthy and her husband, Rich, of Plymouth, Richard Borowski of Hingham, and Kevin Borowski and his wife, Judi, of Warwick, Rhode Island. She was the loving grandmother of Sean McCarthy of Plymouth, sister of Judy Yergeua of Hingham, and aunt of Deborah Williamson of Plymouth. She is also survived by cousins throughout Massachusetts and Germany.
Elizabeth was born in Hingham on July 16, 1940. She graduated from Hingham High School in 1958. Shortly after, she married Joachim-Ingo Borowski in 1959. A lifelong resident of Hingham, full-time mother to three children, a faithful and devoted wife for 65 years, and later beloved grandmother, she was always revered by her family, friends and neighbors. Her legacy and life lives on in the cherished memories held by countless people who valued her friendliness, devotion to her family and her community, and her timeless humor that still continues to make people laugh.
