Barry Leigh Reis, 69
It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved brother, Barry. He was born on March 11, 1957, and passed away on September 3, 2026, after a short illness.
Barry was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Joanne Reis (Mummy and Daddy). He is survived by his sister Barbara (Baba) and her husband Scott (EsCott) Murphy; his sister Pamela (Pammy) Marcella; his brother Rob (Robbie) and his wife Margie Reis; his brother Steven (Stevie) and his wife Lisa Reis; and many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Barry dearly.
Barry spent most of his life at RFK Community Alliance (formerly Perkins School) in Lancaster, Massachusetts, where he was loved and cared for by Jaclyn, Francis, and many other caregivers during the more than 60 years he lived there. He leaves behind many friends at RFK who will miss him dearly.
He loved all things Christmas – and the color red – with all his heart. He enjoyed all kinds of food, but especially McDonald’s—and we smile when we remember the Basket of Chicken For Barry. Through the years, he loved his summer visits home, delighting everyone at the pool with his belly flops. Much to his family’s dismay, Barry also loved both giving and receiving haircuts.
Barry adored music – some favorites were Glen Campbell and The Carpenters. The family held a private service on September 5th, saying goodbye to Barry to another of his favorite songs “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head”. As the song goes… “It won’t be long ‘til happiness steps up to greet me” – Barry is now free, his worries are no more, and he’s in the loving arms of his beloved Mummy and Daddy.
