It is with profound and endless sadness that we announce the passing of Amy Frances Hermanson Rabinovitz. Amy, 63, of Hingham, passed away peacefully and with dignity on July 17, 2026. Survived by her loving, dedicated husband of 43 years, Steven Rabinovitz; her son Benjamin Rabinovitz and his fiancé Courtney; her daughter Laura Moulton and her husband Jeffrey; her daughter Abigail, her daughter Molly, and her cherished, and only grandson, James Rabinovitz Roundtree. Amy is also survived by her two sisters, and two brothers.
Amy was born in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1962 and was the third child of Fred Hermanson and Pauline Goedecke Hermanson. Amy was a proud member of the Hingham High School Class of 1981 and continued to be an avid member of the Hingham community as an original “Hinghamite”. She was a devoted mother and homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family, children, and peers. She would often accompany her mother Pauline to local craft shows where she would showcase her artwork as a seamstress.
Amy found joy in painting, photography, and searching Nantasket Beach for sea glass. The essence of Amy was her deep empathy and wide acceptance for those who surrounded her. Despite her many challenges, Amy had an uncanny ability to touch the lives of so many. She brought endless hope, love, and laughter to all; she could brighten any room by pulling out her sense of humor and warmth. We will remember Amy for her passion for music, fierce love, and grace that could make even the quietest souls feel seen. Her legacy of compassion, resilience, and advocacy will live on in all of us.
Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours for Amy on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4-7pm at Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, located at 21 Pond Street in Hingham.
