A Weymouth man was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly broke into a home and stole a car from the garage. Officers found the man inside the stolen car in a parking lot with drugs in his possession.

On Monday, December 23, 2024 at 10:39am Officers responded to a home on Lazell St. for a burglar alarm. Officers found the garage doors open, several opened packages outside and the rear doors to the house broken. The homeowner spoke to Officers via the home security system and said there should be two cars in the garage. One car, a white Mercedes, was missing.

An Officer then saw a white Mercedes pull into the driveway. He saw the license plate and the driver. As the driver noticed the Officer, he turned around, pulled out of the driveway and sped away. An Officer was flagged down by a pedestrian who saw a white sports car turn into Wompatuck State Park at a very high rate of speed. Wompatuck State Park is about a half mile from the home.

Officers found the white Mercedes backed into a space in a parking lot in Wompatuck State Park with a man in the driver’s seat. After several commands, the man followed the Officers instructions and was arrested without incident. An open beer was in the front seat and a two plastic bags containing what appeared to be cocaine were found in his possession.
