The Launch at Hingham Shipyard is a happening place.
A Salty Days restaurant and J. Crew Factory will be opening at this location later this year, and a Kids Empire indoor active playspace will make its Massachusetts debut at this waterfront destination.
Add to that the return of the summer concert series and outdoor dining for an all-round fun-filled and enjoyable experience for all ages.
“Summer is ideal at Hingham Shipyard, for dining, shopping, fitness, and covering essential tasks at the same time,” said Rachael Diharce, Vice President of Retail Leasing for Samuels & Associates, owners of The Launch at Hingham Shipyard. “With two grocery stores on-site, we are looking forward to adding J.Crew Factory, Kids Empire, and Salty Days as new destinations for both our dedicated fans and new visitors.”
Kids Empire is a vibrant indoor play and entertainment space designed especially for children of all ages. The Launch location will feature oversized kids’ fun and active play for families. The new 9,912-square-foot space will accommodate birthday parties as well as regular drop-in playtimes and school/camp field trips offering climbing features, mazes, slides, a turf space, and dance floor.
Salty Days Fish Co. is making a much-anticipated return to its original hometown of Hingham. Originally a tiny-but-beloved fish market, the full-serve restaurant now offers their signature sushi alongside a broad full menu — which is also available for takeout — described by fans as “elevated food in a fun and casual atmosphere.”
Local owners Sean and Joanne McDaniel are adding some exciting new features to the Launch restaurant — located just steps from the waterfront — including a creative cocktail list and festive patio dining. Salty Days’ grand opening in the former Boathouse Bistro location, is expected this fall.
J. Crew Factory, known for its fun, classic, and colorful styles for women, men, and kids, will open in time for back-to-school shopping.
Summer concert series returns
Now in its 15th season, the popular free summer concert series kicks off on June 27, continuing through August 29. New to the line-up this year is Brimstone Corner, a high school band from the local area.
The concerts will take place at the amphitheater located behind 18 Shipyard Drive each Friday at 7 p.m. Music lovers are encouraged to dine before or after the concert at any of the Launch’s restaurants and eateries.
