On Thursday, May 25th, Cardinal Cushing Centers held their annual “Springtime” fundraiser at Boston Seaport Hotel. A crowd of nearly 370 guests attended the event, which raised over $576,000 for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
As is tradition, the highlight of the night is when “local celebrities” hit the runway with participants from Cardinal Cushing Centers – striking a pose for the guests in stride to their favorite music choices.
This year, Hingham’s Jeff Bellows from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts walked the runway alongside Cushing student Will Egan, and Hingham resident and Cushing participant Bella Testa walked the runway with local celebs George and Elissa Montilio, of Montilio’s Baking Company.
The event included a cocktails & mocktails reception, auction, dinner, and awards presentation for this year’s honorees – the Roessner King Family, who received the Franciscan Leadership Award, and The Florence Family, who was honored with this year’s Richard Cardinal Cushing Award. These recipients were chosen based on the alignment between their family’s values and the beliefs of Cardinal Cushing Centers – including demonstrating humility, compassion, and dedication to enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
