Hingham opened the season at Pembroke with some notable happenings on the mat. Mia Dineen started the season off with a quick pin of her Pembroke opponent, followed by powerful pins by Hugh McGourty, Johnny Morris, Ian Prebble, JD Lucas, Tommy Riordan, Tucker Burke, Eamon Murphy, Tyler Grady and Julian Fopiano to soundly defeat Pembroke. On Saturday Hingham swept a quad meet dominating BC High, Weymouth and Stoughton with Hugh McGourty, Johnny Morris, Ian Prebble, Aidan Chan, Jakub Wozny, Tyler Grady and Julian Fopiano winning all three of their intensely competitive matches on the day. Capping off the day Cole Riordan, Mia Dineen, Eamon Murphy, JD Lucas and Tucker Burke all achieved major wins for the Harbormen to earn the quad match sweep.
Coach Paul Caniff expressed “how proud he was of the way the team wrestled at every weight class and they were going to be ready for Whitman-Hanson on Wednesday.”
