What Happens During a School Lockdown and Active Threat Situations?
Hingham’s Security Program Committee teamed up with the six Hingham Public Schools PTOs to host a forum Wednesday night at Hingham Middle School to help parents understand their roles in emergency preparedness, both on a daily basis and in the event of an emergency. The evening began with the showing of an FBI-produced video called “The Coming Storm” that dramatized an active shooter situation at a community college. After the film, Hingham Police Chief Glenn Olsson led a panel discussion and Q&A session. The Security Program Committee is comprised of emergency personnel (police and fire), as well as School Department personnel including Building and Central Office Administration, School Maintenance, Transportation, teachers and others.
