The Hingham Historical Society will host a Hingham History Maker event celebrating the Gordon Building Movers on Sunday, March 24th at 3:00pm at the Hingham Heritage Museum, 34 Main Street, as well as via Zoom. Hingham History maker events celebrate living history makers who call Hingham home.
Started in 1895, Gordon Building Movers is Hingham’s oldest family-owned business. Participants to the event will learn more about the century old company and their unique contribution to saving historic structures. Hingham Historical Society Board Member Eileen McIntyre will give a presentation on the company’s history, as well as, moderate a panel discussion with members of the Gordon family and local community members who have worked for the family.
All are invited to stay for light refreshments following the presentation. The event is free and open to the public but with a required registration. Please visit the society’s website www.hinghamhistorical.org to secure your tickets.
