In what has become an annual tradition, the Hingham High School turf field is all decked out with 1200 American flags in preparation for the anniversary of 9/11.

Members of the Hingham American Legion Post 120 were joined by members of the Hingam High School Veterans Appreciation Club to hang the flags along the bleacher railings.

The flags will remain in place through the Veterans Day weekend.

The idea came as a result of the 50 Flags Program wanting to use the flags that were removed from broken sticks in a creative manner  The flags are attached to eight foot long strapping boards and hung with quick ties.  After the Veterans Day weekend, the flags will be removed and stored at the GAR Hall along with over 20,000 flags used in the 50 Flags Program.
