Hingham Civic Music Theatre (HCMT) is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for its August production of the hit Broadway musical Mean Girls!
Based on the beloved 2004 film written by Tina Fey, Mean Girls follows Cady Heron as she navigates the social hierarchy of high school after moving from Africa to suburban Illinois. Packed with memorable songs, sharp humor, and an uplifting message about friendship, kindness, and staying true to yourself, the musical has become a favorite with audiences of all ages, from tweens to senior citizens.
HCMT’s production promises a talented cast of singers and dancers, energetic choreography, and the outstanding production values that theatergoers have come to expect from one of the South Shore’s longest-running community theater organizations. “This show is hilarious, but it also has a lot of heart,” says esteemed director Nathan Fogg DeSisto. “Our cast has worked incredibly hard, and they’ve embraced every dance, every joke, and every outrageous moment. We can’t wait to hear our audiences laughing along with us!” Adds veteran Music Director Kelley DePasqua, “What has been really exciting about working with this group is bringing together people from all over the south shore. We have a solid group of returning HCMT summer show players, but we also have a whole group of newcomers to HCMT from Easton, Sharon, Quincy and beyond. You don’t want to miss these great young performers!” Choreographer Samantha Brior-Jones Sullivan rounds out the experienced and highly-regarded production team.
Tickets are on sale now at HCMT.org and are expected to be in high demand. Performances will take place at Sanborn Auditorium in Hingham Town Hall for two weekends only – August 7, 8, and 15 at 7:30pm, and a matinee performance August 16 at 2:00pm – continuing HCMT’s tradition of bringing quality musical theater to the community.
