Hingham Church to Host Free Christmas Concert

November 22, 2023 By Hingham Stake President – Jared Heaton

The Hingham congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hosting a free Christmas concert at their meetinghouse on Saturday December 2 at 6:00pm. The concert will be conducted by members from The Church’s various congregations throughout the South Shore, South Coast and Cape Cod.

Favorite holiday hymns and songs will be performed by soloists, choirs, video presentations and special instrumental numbers. Members from The Church’s Portuguese speaking congregation will also perform.

“Our Christmas celebration promises to be a heartwarming gathering filled with inspiring music, heartfelt messages, and a sense of togetherness that captures the true essence of the season,” said Jared Heaton, Stake President for the The Hingham Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southeast Massachusetts. “It will be a time to rejoice, count our blessings, and share the love that defines this special time of the year. We invite all community members to join us and make this Christmas an even more memorable and meaningful experience for everyone.”

In addition to the concert there will be a viewing area to display cherished nativity scenes, or crèches. “Whether it’s a family heirloom or a handmade creation, each crèche carries a unique story and tradition,” said Heaton. “They help us remember that the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ is the focus on this holiday season. We are encouraging attendees to bring their own nativity scenes to share with others to be displayed during the concert and subsequent social gathering. But it is not required to bring a Nativity, all are welcome.”

After the concert attendees will enjoy refreshments and have a chance to admire the nativity scenes on display. The Hingham Stake Christmas Concert will take place at 6:00pm on Saturday December 2, 2023, at 379 Gardner St, Hingham, MA 02043.
