Come learn how Derby fosters this important skill from PK-8!
Visitors to Derby frequently comment on the well-spoken and confident students they encounter during their visit. Students as young as Pre-Kindergarten age are observed engaging with adults, making eye contact, and communicating clearly and effectively. This is not something that happens by accident. Derby intentionally fosters the critical skill of public speaking in all students through everyday classroom lessons, our social emotional learning program, our multidisciplinary curriculum, collaborative projects, and the capstone Grade 8 Speech, as well as in numerous other ways.
On Tuesday, May 14 at 10:00 AM, we will hold a presentation highlighting the unique public speaking experience at Derby, followed by campus tours to see our classrooms in action.
