August 10, 2026 Submitted By The Scituate Animal Shelter
The Scituate Animal Shelter’s Dine Out for Cats and Dogs special one-day dining event returns this year on Wednesday, August 12, at three South Shore restaurants; The Tinkers Son, The Corner Stop and Jakes Seafood.
Participating restaurants are once again supporting the Shelter by making a one-time donation to help provide care for homeless animals in our community. From 5pm-8pm on August 12, guests at each location will have the opportunity to meet former rescue dogs whose lives were changed by the shelter—and see firsthand what happens when a homeless animal gets a second chance.
No tickets are required. Simply choose one of the participating restaurants to enjoy a meal at any time during their open hours and help support the animals of the Scituate Animal Shelter. Reservations recommended where accepted. “As a 100% donor funded non-profit, we are incredibly grateful to these restaurants for once again opening their doors to support the Scituate Animal Shelter,” said Connie Merigo, Executive Director of the Scituate Animal Shelter. “Dine Out for Cats and Dogs is a wonderful way for our community to come together to support animals in need .”
Serving the entire south shore community for more than 30 years, Scituate Animal Shelter (SAS) is a privately funded nonprofit organization whose mission is to help homeless animals in need and the people who love them. SAS also addresses the root causes of pet homelessness with its spay/neuter programs for dogs and cats, and veterinary assistance and food pantry programs for seniors and families in need. Funds raised through Dine Out for Cats and Dogs provides critical funding to support these programs and the animals in SAS care.
