The Hingham High School Class of 2026 officially closed one chapter and began another on Saturday morning. While rain and wind moved the ceremony indoors, the weather did not dampen the spirit of the day.

The ceremony featured remarks from Principal John Buckey and School Committee Chair Jennifer Benham, along with reflections from student speaker Mia Smigliani, Salutatorian Ethan Warhaftig, Valedictorian Tori Dell, and Class President Emily Kiernan. Audrey Jones performed the National Anthem accompanied by the Hingham High School Band.

The Class of 2026 also carried with them the memory of classmate Maddie McCoy, who passed away in 2019. Graduates wore purple ribbons on their commencement gowns in her honor, a touching tribute that reflected the deep bonds within the class and the lasting impact Maddie continues to have on her classmates.

As reflected in the speeches throughout the ceremony, the Class of 2026Ā leaves behind a legacy defined by community, resilience, and a commitment to supporting one another through every milestone. Congratulations and best of luck on all of your new adventures ahead!
