The captains of the Hingham High School boys soccer team made a conscience decision to fundraise at this year’s homecoming event to benefit veterans in need.
Their efforts paid off, and on Nov. 14 they presented Hingham Director of Veterans Services Senior Chief Keith Jermyn with local food store gift cards totaling about $1,200.
Close to 20 Hingham veterans and their dependents suffer from food insecurities, which are further exacerbated during the fall and winter months.
The coach, athletic director, principal, school superintendent, and Select Board should extend a hearty “Well done!” to these future leaders!
